Children will begin their journey through the National Curriculum in Year 1 where they will have a mixture of Science, Geography, Art and History led themes. the children will learn about toys from the past, look at two different towns called Penrith, compare local artists with artists from the past.  The children will also get lots of opportunities to learn outdoors and explore the nature that is just on their school doorstep. Visits in this year include trips to Stockswood Outdoor Learning Centre, Lakeland Toy Museum as well as joining forces with Hawkshead who will guide the chidlren through their very own chutney making experience. The children will also be joined by Zoobidoo who will have lots of animals and creatures to bring with them!
