At Beaconside Primary School, collective worship is central to our Christian vision and values. It provides a daily opportunity for pupils and staff to come together in prayer, praise, reflection and celebration, enabling everyone to flourish spiritually.
Our worship is inclusive and inspirational, welcoming all pupils and adults, regardless of their beliefs. Through Bible stories, prayer, music and reflection, we encourage pupils to explore Christian teachings, ask meaningful questions and consider how they can live out our school values.
Our weekly collective worship begins on Monday with a whole-school Bible story, introducing a Christian message that provides a shared focus for the week. Tuesday's praise and worship brings pupils together through songs, prayer and reflection, building upon Monday's message. Throughout the week, Wednesday's worship is either led by a class for the whole school or takes place within individual classrooms, providing opportunities for reflection, discussion and deeper exploration of the week's Christian message. On Thursday, pupils explore stories and inspirational people who demonstrate Christian values through their actions, making connections to the week's biblical teaching. We end the week with our Friday Celebration Worship, recognising pupils' achievements, efforts and contributions through our Value Certificates and Learning Certificates.
Collective worship provides opportunities for stillness, prayer, reflection and spiritual growth. Pupils are encouraged to explore their own beliefs, respect the beliefs of others and consider how they can make a positive difference in the world. Through our shared worship experiences, we aim to nurture a sense of belonging, strengthen our Christian community and inspire everyone to flourish.
Our Worship Ambassadors are children from Year 5 who play an important role in supporting collective worship within our Church of England school.
They help prepare the space for worship, ensuring everything is ready and welcoming for our school community. They also help us begin our time together with the greeting, “Peace be with you,” creating a calm and reflective atmosphere. Our Worship Ambassadors support the smooth running of collective worship and help everyone to join in with prayers, reflection and worship. They also help to lead us in our closing prayer before sharing the greeting, “Peace be with you,” once again.
Through their role, our Worship Ambassadors demonstrate our Christian values whilst developing confidence, leadership skills and help nurture a sense of belonging, peace and togetherness across our school.
01.10.2026 - 5I’s collective worship focused on, “How big is God’s love?”
They tried to show, through their words and actions, how the message of Ephesians is that God's love is wide, long, high and deep and that it has no boundaries and can’t really be measured in any manner.

15.10.2026 - 4D's collective worship focused on "The Parable of the Pearl"
The Parable of the Pearl tells of a merchant who was searching for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he sold everything he had. The pearl represents the Kingdom of God – something so precious and valuable that it is worth giving up everything for. The parable reminds us of the joy of discovering how valuable our relationship with God truly is.
22.10.2026 - 4R's collective worship focused on the life of Saint Francis Assisi
Saint Francis of Assisi was a kind and caring man who lived in Italy about 800 years ago. He loved God, people and all of nature. Francis chose to live simply and spend his time helping people who were poor or in need. He was also famous for his love of animals. He taught people to be kind, look after the world around them and care for everyone.
