Beaconside C of E Primary School & Acorn Nursery

“Let your light so shine before others that they may see your good works” (Matthew 5:16)

Welcome to Beaconside

As Head Teacher of Beaconside Church of England Primary School and Acorn Nursery,  I am extremely proud to welcome you to our school website. It is a privilege to work with our children, parents, staff and governors.  We hope our website gives you an understanding of our School and also the information you need to help us work in partnership to ensure every child flourishes during their Nursery and Primary education.  If you would like to arrange a visit to see our Nursery and School in action, we are always happy to show current and prospective parents the amazing learning our children enjoy and the care and commitment our staff give to every child.   Please have a look at the information on Acorn Nursery or Joining our School for further information.

Our vision for education is simple; every child should have the opportunity to learn to live and learn to shine.  It embraces our view that school should help develop confident young people through not only academic learning, but also through spiritual, physical, intellectual, emotional, moral and social development.

As a school, we have high expectations of all our children and staff and promote and share these expectations so we are able to strive for excellence in everything we do. Some of our successes can be seen through sports Music, Drama and strong academic performance at the end of Key Stage 2 assessments.  The school has grown and developed over recent years and is a positive, welcoming place with a very special atmosphere.

We are a large, family-focused school with many parents and grandparents that have been to our school as well as teachers and teaching assistants that started their education at Beaconside.  Although our facilities and grounds are large, we ensure we value each and every individual child and focus learning on their needs and interests.

Our curriculum is designed to ensure children have rich and memorable learning experiences through our residentials, educational visits and specialist teaching in Sport and Music, while at the same time rigorously teaching the skills needed to live life in all its fullness.

Our school is at the heart of the community with strong links to the United Parish of Penrith and St Andrew's Church in particular.  We believe education is a joint partnership between children, parents, staff, governors and the community.  Our committed governing body plays an active role in the school's ongoing development, the Parent-Teacher Association have raised significant funds through a wide range of events and our Parent Link group provide valuable support to our school..  Staff give their time voluntarily to deliver a fantastic range of activities and events outside of the normal school day.

If you have any questions or would like to visit us, please do not hesitate to contact us and a member of team will be able to help.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website and we hope to see you in the future, to experience what it means to learn and be part of Beaconside Church of England Primary School.
