At Beaconside we take safeguarding seriously and have a number of measures in place to ensure the safety in all aspects of all our children, families and staff.
Safeguarding is the action that is taken at Beaconside C of E School to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm.
We can talk with children and parents/carers about anything that is bothering them. We can also support in school with pastoral support.

At Beaconside C of E Primary school we have a range of people that can help our families and children when there is safeguarding and pastoral support needed.
Mrs Sara Prickett is our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). Her role in school is to keep our families and young people safe each day.
Mrs Polly Cudby and Miss Emma Short are the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads (DDSL's). Their role is to support Mrs Prickett in making decisions about safeguarding.
Mrs Prickett leads the pastoral team and works with Mrs Chelsey Barkworth. Mrs Barkworth supports families and young people by making phone calls, meeting families and running Early Helps.
Mrs Prickett and Mrs Barkworth also support other vulnerable families including children in care, those that need financial support and others who may need additional support and link them with external agencies.
We acknowledge that families will need different support at different times. We will talk and consult with our families on how we can best support them and what this support will look like.
We use the Continuum of Need provided by Westmorland and Furness Safeguarding hub to assess each family and decide what support can be given.
If you have any concerns please contact Mrs Sara Prickett using office@beaconside.cumbria.sch.uk or by phoning the school office on 01768 840868
