Key Stage 2 Sports Day (11.7.17 + 12.7.17)
What a Sports day! Exciting, energetic and fun. What more could anyone want? Despite the Great British Summer's changeable weather we managed to squeeze in Sports day between the showery wet days. Again, Whinlatter were defending their title of 2 years and hoping to make it a "Hat trick" of winning titles. However all the other houses Kirkstone, Newlands and Honister had other ideas!
All of the children competed brilliantly well and in the manner befitting a competitive Sports day. Everyone enjoyed themselves, none more so than the children themselves.
Below you can see some of the morning events which the children in Upper Key Stage 2 took part in. All events in the morning mirror that of a proper track and field meet, which they will eventually experience at Secondary school.

We would like to thank, massively, all the staff who organised the event. Furthermore a huge thank you goes out to all staff and parent helpers who gave up their time and efforts to allow a highly successful sports day to unfold. Moreover, we would like to thank all the parents/carers who came to support yet another superb Beaconside sports day.
If you have any comments or ideas on how we could improve the format of our fantastic Sports day please let us know. We are always wanting to challenge both ourselves and the children.
