Welcome to Beaconside

The children and staff of Beaconside Church Of England Primary School & Acorn Nursery are extremely proud to welcome you to our school website. It is a privilege to be part of our school family and we hope our website gives you an understanding of our School and also the information you need to help us work in partnership to ensure every child thrives during their Nursery and Primary education.  If you would like to arrange a visit to see our Nursery and School in action, we are always happy to show current and prospective parents the amazing learning our children enjoy and the care and commitment our staff give to every child.   Please have a look at the information on Acorn Nursery or Joining our School for further information.

As a school, we have high expectations of all our children and staff and promote and share these expectations so we are able to strive for excellence in everything we do while at the same time valuing each and every child. Some of our successes can be seen through Sport, Music and strong academic performance at the end of Key Stage 2 assessments.  Our school has grown and developed over recent years and we pride ourselves on our warm and welcoming approach that creates a very special atmosphere.

We are a large, family-focused school with many parents and grandparents that have been to our school as well as teachers and teaching assistants that started their education at Beaconside.  Although our facilities and grounds are large, we ensure we value each and every child for who they are and focus on their individual needs and interests.

Our curriculum is designed to ensure children have rich and memorable learning experiences enhanced through our residentials, educational visits, outdoor learning and specialist teaching in Sport and Music, while at the same time rigorously teaching the knowledge and skills needed to live life in all its fullness.

Our school is at the heart of the community with strong links to the United Parish of Penrith and St Andrew's Church in particular.  We believe education is a joint partnership between children, parents, staff, governors and the community.  Our committed governing body plays an active role in our school's work, the Parent-Teacher Association have raised significant funds through a wide range of events and our Parent Link group provide valuable support to our school..  Staff give their time voluntarily to deliver a fantastic range of activities and events outside of the normal school day.

If you have any questions or would like to visit us, please do not hesitate to contact us and a member of team will be able to help.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website and we hope to see you in the future, to experience what it means to learn and be part of Beaconside Church of England Primary School.
