Year 5 Homework

Year 5 Maths Homework 20th April 2018

This week, we would like the children have been estimating and measuring angles.  Below you will find a list of web based activities for your child to complete in order to practise these skills. Please can you sign the slip below to say that this work has been completed?  If you do not have the internet at home, then Penrith Library allows members to use the computers for free (although you may have to book a slot). Alternatively your child may use the computers in school during break times to complete the work. There are a lot of activities but each one only takes a few minutes to complete and we suggest that they are played throughout the week…repetition is key to building a good visual image of the size of angles and to consolidate these skills.  Some activities have progressive levels and although we encourage children to challenge themselves we also accept that not all children can complete all levels.

Work through all the activities on the following website to help you estimate angles and read the scale on a protractor.

Estimate and then use the protractor to measure each angle shown.

See how clever you are at estimating the size of an angle up to 180o to help you rescue the aliens.

Use your estimating skills up to 360o to practise your Kung Fu skills. Can you work your way up through the levels?
